Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Won Win by 69 Runs

Match report Park went through quite easily to the next round of the Peters Cup after this convincing win. Park started well with D'cruz and Bassett scoring freely. Bassetts dismissal brought Sam Dennis to the crease who started very nervously missing everything with remarkable consistency!!! However this was soon to change and once Sam got his eye in he smashed the ball all around the park and 13 Fours and two sixes later guided Park to 150-6 of 20 overs and finished on 82 not out!!!

Sam was well supported by good batting performances from Andy D'cruz (21) and Billy Payne (10).

When Park bowled the opening pair of Johal and Toogood were impressive and looks good for the upcoming season. Chris Swainland martialled his troops well allowing Park to use 9 bowlers!! The pick of the bowlers were Tom Kershaw with 2 for 9 but star of the show was Gary Coombe who bowled 3 overs for 10 runs and 3 wickets.

Park's fielding could have been more focused but all in all a good start to the season. Well done boys!!
