Match report This was a superb game of cricket which provided us with our first win of the season and 20 valuable points. Solid innings from Waqash and Bigtime (who retired hurt with a recurrence of his back problem) and an excellent fifty by Ramesh against his old teammates enabled us to reach a useful but what was considered to be a modest 207 for 7.
In reply Goldie and Bezza removed the prolific Hinton and Webb after which Max Wall settled into a fine rhythm to bowl what would become a match winning spell. Dave Richardson batted well with his brother for the visitors and it looked likely that they would secure a win for their side. Ramesh completed a good all round performance by removing Paul Richardson and a superb caught and bowled by Max removed the other brother for 71. After a brilliant rin out by Bezza it came down to the last over with Wanstead needing 8 runs for victory with 1 wicket in hand. Max was straight driven for 4 but kept his nerve to trap Emmons LBW with the penultimate delivery of the match.
Well done us and well played Wanstead for playing the game so positively
