Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Sunday 2nd X1 v Upminster on Sun 05 May 2002 at 2pm
Match was Drawn

Match report Park lost the toss & were put in by Upminster. Chris Collier marked a return to form with a unbeaten century, Jeff Thomas playing his first game of the season chipped in with 50. This set Park up for a good declaration.

Upminster started brightly with John Nash taking the attack to the Park bowlers of Paul Windebank, playing his first game of the season & vetaran off spinner Dave Osborne. However Osborne teased him down the track once to often & he was stumped.

Wickets fell at regular intervals during the Upminster innings thanks in part to some good fileding & poor calling from the Upminster batsmen leading to 2 runouts. And apart from a defiant 64 from Paul Middlemiss & some lusty blows from Brooks the game fizzled out into a tame draw. Alan Croft being the pick of the Park bowling with 2-25
