Match report Park won the toss on what looked like a bowler friendly wicket. Hainault dug in and with fine batting from Bopara and patience from Patel they found boundaries too easy to come by. Park never came to terms with Bopara and he crusied towards 100 before lunch but fell 3 short bowled by Mel Hussain for 97. Zobe Sharif then notched up a fine 54 after lunch before he was dismissed by Churchill stumped by Barry Hyam. Clarke came back for a better 2nd spell and with Andy Churchill ,Hainault were bowled out for 251. Churchill claiming his first 5 wicket haul of the season. A disappointingly high total in gloomy conditions was never going to be an easy total to chase.
Park got off to a good start and at tea were reasonably well placed. Hyam duely went on to claim a fine 50 before being caught down the leg side off Shah's first ball.Leigh Davey and Andy Churchill tried to apply some accelartion but with the ball turning and Hainault trying to get either to offer their wicket up the game turned into a stalemate . Davey was dismissed stumped for 42 and Andy Churchill finished up 39 not out but with defensive fields 12 an over was always too much and the game petered out into a disappointing draw with neither side giving way.
