Gidea Park's Under-11 team win for the 6th time this season and made it two on the bounce with a corking game away at Buckhurst Hill.
Played in much colder conditions, some of the supporters took to blankets and overcoats as they watched the home side battle for a total of 273 off 22 overs (both sides agreed BH could play 11). Gidea impressed once again with the bowling and fielding, assets which have improved throughout the season and are as good as ever.
Indeed, the away team are always decent when chasing a score and proved again that the mix of patient players and sheer talent and exuberance was too much as they called well, ran with gusto and were simply too strong for the plucky home defence who showed a few very talented players for the future.
Once in front it never looked as though enough wickets would fall to aid 'Hill' even though they took one late on and Gidea sauntered home on 307 - an excellent total.
With just two games left of the season, let's see if they can make it a magic seven wins for the year!
