Volunteers in Cricket

NatWest CricketForce 2013 will take place at GPRCC on the weekend 13th/14th April.

NatWest CricketForce is an England and Wales Cricket Board volunteering initiative aimed at rejuvenating cricket facilities throughout England and Wales.

NatWest CricketForce encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give back to their local cricket club by volunteering to undertake renovation work in club houses and grounds, typically over a specific weekend before the season starts.

Last year an incredible 1,914 clubs took part and this year we want to make it bigger and better!

The following are examples of some of the projects club volunteers will give up their time to help with:

  • Repaired and painted 4no side screens
  • Clean, repair and roll our outdoor nets
  • Clean the front of the clubhouse and paint exterior walls and doors
  • Clean/ tidy the internal club house
  • Put up photos and paintings
  • Clean out the container in preparation for the season.

GP&R was one of 51 clubs (5 in Essex) identified by the ECB to develop new junior sections at their clubs focussing on the long term development of 6 to 9 year olds. CricketForce 2005 secured funding through Sportsmatch to introduce the programme which will involve developing partnerships with local schools and setting up summer coaching sessions.
