Match report Park controlled the first hour without any luck whilst bowling on a helpful wicket. But Thurston 48 and Hammond 44 stuck firm and produced a fine opening partnership. Rob Hayto looked the most at home with 29 before being run out. A fine striking innings to close saw Bailey add 29 also. Park were unlucky not to take more wickets earlier but after lunch Aslam 5-81 and Waheed 3-74 saw Park take control. 235 was a good score although the wicket flattened right out.
Park had a steady start of 59 with Hoq 29 and Collard 22 before both fell in quick succession. A 53 from Mo Ali helped Park stay in touch but the loss of wickets the other end saw Park struggle to gamble for the win when a defeat would have been deadly in their quest to survive. I fine reguard innings from Ejaz Khan 50 not out and Touseef Shahzad 43 saw Park to a respectable 216-7 with a partnership of 90 from this pair.
Chelmsfords disappointment not to win was matched with Parks gratitude to survive for the draw. C'est la vie at this stage of the season in a hard fought game.
