Gidea Park & Romford CC

Scorecard

Gidea Park & Romford CC Sunday 3rd X1 v Kingfisher on Sun 04 Jul 2004 at 2.00pm
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won 9 wickets

A strong Kingfisher side batted first but really got away with murder with quite a few catches being dropped. That said a young Gidea Park side stuck to their bowling task well as the Kingfisher side new how to put bat to ball. Kingfisher batted on for 41 overs.

Parks reply was steady and sensible to start with and was built around what was to be a magnificent 171no from veteran Ron Montgomery. Ron hit 20 fours and 4 sixes while ensuring that his young partners concentrated and staryed with him. Special mention should be given to Jack Kilber and Adam Locke who were both quite superb in their support of Ron. It wasn't as easy as Ron made it look at times and the boys did well to concentrate while chasing such a big total especailly given the extreamly noisy fielding side.

Well done lads, and a special thanks to "Rocket" Ronnie for leading us to 290-1 what a tremendous way to win a cricket match
