Fives & Heronians v Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Saturday 4th XI on Sat 03 Jul 2004 at 1.30pm
Match was Drawn

Match report Park were asked to bat on a slow wicket and the openers struggled for a while. Ron Montgomery then settled down and hit a fine 90(he was to add 171no to this on Sunday) which was the cornerstone of the innings. Craig Bray kept him company and a large opening partnership resulted. when Craig was out there folowed some accelration by the middle order. Matt Tarr hit a quickfire 20 which was followed by an excellent partnership between Anil Patel and Tom Montgomery who put on 70 odd runs in 8/9 overs.

The Fives reply was mainly a rearguard action and it was disappointing that we couldn't bowl them out.. but they seemed content with one batting point. The bowlers did well in difficult conditions and special mention should be given to Nick Ford who took 3-24 and also took 4 catches.... two of which were quite breathtaking.

Well done lads. 12 points bagged and in soem decent form with a tough game at Brentwood beckoning
