Gidea Park & Romford CC Saturday 3rd X1 v WOODFORD WELLS on Sat 28 Jun 2008 at 1PM
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won by 8 wickets
A fantastic result for Gidea Park against a side who are far better than their league position suggests - having regained all of their student players there is no doubt that Wells will move away from the danger zone.
Wells started nicely having been inserted until picked up the opener Curran bowled for 35. Abdul Zabwala then became the star of the innings picking up batsmen 3 and 4 for ducks in successive balls, on the way to 6 for 80 off nearly 22 overs - a great effort by the 18 year old left arm spinner.
The response was dominated by another terrific and powerful innings from Matt Sutton of 153 not out - only 28 of those were not in boundaries! The others chipped in as arkromped home with the last hour to spare for a convincing victory, pushing them up to third in the table.
