HUTTON v Gidea Park & Romford CC Saturday 4th X1 on Sat 11 Aug 2007 at 1PM
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won 8 wickets
Park lost the toss to the home team and Hutton elected to bat on a pitch that was to play more unevenly than it looked. The young Hutton line up were soon in trouble as Hafiz Ali struck three times very quickly to reduce them to 10 for 3, one a diving caught and bowled, and they never recovered from this umpromising position. Mike O'Neil chipped in with two victims, before Ali removed Robin Hobbs to a sharp gully catch, and a bowled and LBW provided his fifth and sixth victims. Dave Cobill wrapped things up, and a clinical display by the Park attack had seen Hutton bowled out for just 57 in 23 overs. Ali had excellent figures of 11 overs 1 maiden 32 runs and 6 wickets , reward for an agressive display; O'Neil had 2 for 15 off 9 overs with 4 maidens, and Cobill 2 for 6 off 3 overs.
Ashu Dahbi fell early in the reply, mishitting to square leg, but a breezy 26 by Graham Redwood put Park well on the way until he scooped to midwicket a ball that crept, and Jas Chaggar and Baljit Jutla saw things home with no alarms, the match finishing before tea with Park victors by 8 wickets.
