Hainault & Clayhall v Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Under 15's on Tue 03 Jun 2003 at 6pm
Gidea Park & Romford Cricket Club Lost 10 wickets

Match report Gidea Park won the toss and chose to set a score. Andy D'cruz held the top order together with 23 as wickets tumbled early on. Jason Toogood scored his first 50 for the Club just when acceleration was needed. After being dropped first ball he proceeded to smash an undefeated half century. He was joined by Matt Tarr who ws undefeated on 23 after some really strong strokes of his own. Excellent knocks from both these boys saw the innings close on 116 after 20 overs.

Park were unlucky not to break through when the H&C openers rode their luck a bit and GPR missed a succession of chances. All credit to the H&C openers who stuck to the task and played some good shots along the way to a deserved victory.

Learning points for GPR are
(1) we must run harder between the wickets
(2) The fielding is improving but if we are to be a classed as a good fielding side we must take a higher percentage of difficult chances.

We need to win at Leyton County to progress in this competition so lets give it a real go on Sunday morning
