Gidea Park & Romford CC Sunday 3rd X1 v Ardleigh Green on Sun 20 Jul 2003 at 2pm
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won 105 runs

Park were put in to bat in this Jeff Rodrigues O40/U15 match and once again got off to a good start with 156 put on for the first wicket by Bob Coombe (aged 40 something) and Andy D'cruz(aged 15). Bob was eventually out for 77. The run rate slowed a bit but then Craig Bray managed to break the shackles a bit befre getting out for 27. Andy D'cruz just failed to make a second hundred after his maiden hunndred the week before and was out for 90 just before the innings closed.

Ardleigh Green tried hard but could not keep up with the run rate. Pick of the bowlers was young Les Hall(50 well nearly 60 something) who was bowling some of his occassional offspin( about once a decade). Ryan Sammons bowled with some real venom(ask poor keeper Crofty) and young Danny Coombe bowled really well by just keeping the ball well pitched up. Tommy Kershaws bowling continues to impress while young Win D'cruz bowled his first ever over for the club(off his short run up!!).

3 out of 3 in this fine competition... a hard game against Harold Wood beckons
