Park lost the toss and were put in to bat and there were good contributions all down the order. Les Hall led by example with 29 opening the innings. Travis Hussain (aged 13) hit an assured 32 and Kier Smith a fine 25. Jon Roberts (36) and Peter Collier (39no) dis some fine hitting at the end and made sure a formidable total of 267-7 was posted. Top score was Bob Coombe with a typical 54 runs.

Hadlieghs reply was steady but came to a spluttering halt when Gary Coombe came on to bowl. Bowling with some accuraccy and copious amounts of spin and turn Gary finished with 6 for 46.... aided by three stumpings by Dad Bob Coombe. But the Coombes were not finished and young Danny Coombe proceeded to bowl 5 successive maidens to finish on 5-5-0-1. A good team performance with an extra special contribution from the family Coombe!!!
