Match report Gidea Park travelled to Leigh-on-Sea for the first of the remaining 50/50 format games. On a scorcher of a day Park were sent out to field on a dry wicket and quick outfield. Hewitt bowled with good pace upfront and was rewarded with a wicket clean bowling the Leigh opener.The game changed with the introduction of spin bowling as it became apparent that pace off the ball was the key here. Vin bowled economically grabbing 1 wicket while Mckie turnt it square grabbing 3-43 at the other end. Collard and Francis closed out the innings with 2 wickets a piece. Leigh on Sea finished 196-AO in the 49th over. Great efforts in the field on a hot day and a score well below par.

Parks innings started with a wobble. Collier, Franic and Tarr were out early with the score at just 20-3 Leigh's total looked a long way off. Vin and Hewitt rebuilt the innings with Hewitt eventually falling for a classy 41 with the score on 122-4. Vinnie was joint by Filmalter and the Leigh total was chased down without further loss of wickets. Vin with a great knock of 88no and Filmalter who bagged some revenge on the Leigh bowlers with a quickfire 31no. 199-4 in 31ov.

Park 20 points. Same time same place next week - this time Westcliff our opponents on the over-lapping boundaries.
