Gidea Park & Romford CC Saturday 2nd X1 v South Woodford on Sat 25 May 2002 at 13:30
Gidea Park & Romford CC Lost 8 runs
After doing the hard work in the field and dismissing South Woodford for only 122 and then reaching 82 for 3 in reply with plenty of time and overs available the wheels came off disastrously. Baljit Singh turned in a good bowling spell taking 5 for 36. He was well supported by the two Pauls and Alan Croft After losing early wickets a fourth wicket stand between Richard Whatling and Jeff Thomas seemed to be heading us to an easy victory. The introduction of the spin bowling attack of Sharp and Leat turned the game on its head as wickets tumbled. The pitch was turning sharply and our batsmen had no answers leaving us all out 8 runs short
