HAVERING ATTE BOWER 1ST v Gidea Park & Romford CC Sunday 2nd X1 on Sun 14 May 2006 at 2pm
Gidea Park & Romford CC Lost 52
Havering Atte Bower were put into bat by GP&R on a pitch that offered the bowler more than they could ever wish for. Unfortunately the GP&R bowling attack lacked the line and length discipline that was required to utilise the track and Havering finished on 254 for 6. The pick of the bowling was John Roberts who only went for 17 from his 8 overs.
GP&R's innings began well, with James Evans looking promising before holing out for 28 and James Patient digging in for a very good 80 before the game got away from us and he needed to play his shots. The pitch offered the Havering bowlers a great deal with some deliveries taking off from a length and Park helmets taking a pounding. ultimately, Havering bowled the line and length required to put GP&R under pressure and a quickfire 42 and 22 from Durvinder Bhogal and Billy Payne respectively, could not get Park within touching distance of Havering's first innings score. GP&R finished on 202 for 9, losing by 52 runs.
