Match report Park were asked to bat first on a green damp wicket which showed early help for the Upminster bowlers. Chris Swainland and Andy Churchill became early victims to John Curtis who bowled well and got good movement. Alan Ison bowled impecably the other end conceeding only 18 runs form his 7 over spell.Luke Baker and Russ Collard added 85 for the 3rd wicket before Collard was finally bowled by Peck for 50. Greg Churchill was bowled by Rahman without score and Baker then followed shortly after for 40 leaving Par on 99-4. Rudi Filmalter was run out for 15 and then newcomer Mike O'Neil was bowled for 4. The wheels were wobbling at 108-5. Mike Allen scored a fine 33 but Park lost James Lock for 1 and Allen finally fell to Peck LBW. Waheed Khan 20 not out and Andrew Berry 10 not out gave Parks total some respectability as their innings closed at 188-9 from their 45 overs.

Park needed early wickets and Upminsters batters were determined not to give their wickets way cheaply. Steve Wright and Paul Brockman added 39 for the 1st wicket before Wright was adjudged stumped by Chris Swainland off Andy Berry for 10. Brockman 52 and Rahman 27 added 57 for the 2nd wicket before Rahman was bowled by Andy Churchill and Brookman followed quickly after well caught by Greg Churchill for a fine patient 52.Micheal Rath was well caught by Russ Collard off Rudi Filmalter for 6 and the Upminster stuttered at 113-4. Alan Ison scored 13 before falling to a good catch behind by Swainland off Churchill and Squibb was removed by Berry for only 5. Upminster 130-6 and the game was evenly balanced and could have gone either way. But some good running and intelligent cricket by Terry Wyatt and Danny O'Dell created the pressure and Park's fielding and bowling became scrappy and poor. Slowly Upminster took advantage and a hold on the game and got across the line comfortably for a deserved victory by 4 wickets.
