Match report A fine hundred by Darren Batch, his 5th of the season, was the highlight of the Wickfords innings. Batch and Naveed put on a stand of 126. Andy Berry showed great control and patience claiming the wicket of Bate for 28. Filmalter came back on after lunch and bowled superbly. immediately breaking the Batch and Naveed , having the later well caught by Collard for 44. Filmalter was rewarded for his hard work throughout the season claiming his 3rd five wicket haul in the last 4 matches. Andy Churchill had Batch well caught by Shah on the boundary and it was left up to Filmalter to march through the rest of the order finiishing with 6-74 from 21 overs. Andy Churchill finishing the Wickfords innings off bowling George. All out for 270.
Hyam and Swainland put on 61 for the first wcket before Hyam was bowled for 26. Leigh Davey and Swainland added 101 for the 2nd wicket before Davey was stumped for a fine 58. Swainland contiued to bat well and looked destined for his maiden league hundred but was caught at mid wicket for 97. As Park tried for victory wickets started to tumble, Shah 25, the likelyhood of victory disappeared and Park had to settle to reach maximum batting points. Park finished on 250-7 with Collard and Rees at the wicket needing 9 from the last over. Both sides settling for the draw and survival. Naveed being the pick of the bowlers for Wickford finishing with 4-39.
