Match was Drawn Draw 11 pts
Park asked to bat first lost early wickets with both Barry Hyam 1 and Andy Churchill 15 being bowled by Kilby-Brown leaving the hosts on 22-2.
Swainland and Allen added 56 for the third wicket before Swainland 24 was well stumped by former Park keeper Matt Drew.Allen feel just before lunch for a fine 51 , adjudged lbw off Stuart Greenhill with the score on 108. Leigh Davey and Chris Hendriks looked in fine form adding 41. Hendriks was well caught low down at mid off by Butler off the bowling of Terry Laird for 23 when looking well set.Leigh Davey followed shrtly after when bowled for a fluent and much apprciated 31. At 155-6 it looked like Loughton had the upper hand. Enter Rudi Filmalter and Phil Goldstone. Goldstone played a wonderful support role along with some fine shots as he and Filmalter added 98 in 13 overs. Filmalter reaching his 50 in 34 balls but lost Goldstone for a fine 25 well caught by Greenhill off his own bowling. The blitz started. Filmalter was ruthless in his striking as he struck his next 50 in only 27 balls reaching his maiden hundred for Gidea Park and Romford in only 61 balls with 5 6's and 10 4's. Parks total accelarating to 293-7 when Park declared.
Loughton were off to the worst start losing Gray for 4 well caught by Swainland off Berry. Afridi who bowled a fine long steady spell already of 20 overs was in at 3 to join ex staffer Keith Butler. They went about there task with some fine shots and at a steady pace adding 122 for the 2nd wicket.Loughton had aspirations of a victory and looked well placed but the loss of Butler again off Berry for 56 and the next over from Berry saw him account for Afridi with a fantastic caught and bowled for 70 saw the Loughton charge well and truly halted. The spin of Churchill and Hendriks started to wear down Loughton and the wickets started to tumble. Fine control from Churchill saw him account for his second 5 wicket haul of the season. With 12 overs remaining to get the last wicket Park met stubben resistence from Stuart Greenhill whilst the luckless Ryan Sammons bowled his heart out but just could not dislodge the last pair of Greenhill 31 and Terry Laird 13. The two teams having to settle for a competitive draw
