Match report Ardleigh Green won the toss and Park were asked to bat on a damp wicket and with great enthusiasm Green were soon amongst Parks early order. Clarke showing great control finishing with (3-37 from his 21 overs) and variation removed Barry Hyam with one which kept low. Chris Swainland and Andy Churchill added 48 before Swainland was removed by Chris Hopper for 24. Russ Collard followed with the addition of only 2 and Hopper finished off his wickets with the wicket of Andy Churchill well caught in the gully for 20. Hopper off only a short run bowled with good pace and accuracy finishing wit 3-51 off his 21 overs. Park were reduced to 118-8 at lunch with Gibbons picking up 2 wickets.Some resolute late order batting from Mike Allen 22, Rudi Filmalter a great 36, and Tom Montgomery 22 put Ardleigh Green on the back foot after lunch and an unthinkable score at lunch became reality as Park started to crack Greens resolute. Finally all out for 172 Park gave away 5 frustrating overs to their hosts.
Russ Collard removed ex Park player Krishnan caught and bowled for only 6 with Mike Allen removing Jayasuria also for 6 Park had Greenn 22-2. Royston Smith and Ian Salter set about rebuilding and showed patience whilst some inauspicious catching helped them establish a partnership of 43 although Parks control made scoring difficult. Parks patience and determination with Waheed Khan producing a fine spell of controlled bowling was rewarded when Andy Churchill from the other end removed the stubborn Salter lbw for 23. Smith and Ferns then established a partnership but a fantastic delivery from Chris Hendriks removed Smith for 34. The gate had opened and Park pressurised Ferns as wickets started to fall around him. Hendriks claiming another 2 wickets, then Churchill trapped Ferns lbw for 33. With the scores getting closer the pressure told as Andy Churchill showing great control picked up the last 3 wickets finishing with a fine 5-48 leaving Park victors by 10 runs in a very keenly contested match.
