Gidea Park & Romford CC U15 v Khalsa College on Sun 09 Jul 2006 at 9.30am
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won 8 wickets
A win for the U15's against a not particularly strong side. Nevertheless, bowling straight, the boys were rewarded accordingly. A good opening spell from Lloyd and David, with the latter unlucky to see a couple of catches dropped, was followed by a fine debut by James Castleman with 2-18. Cameron Baxter and Tom Stephen picked up a wicket apiece but pride of place went to Adam McKie with figures he'll be hard pushed to ever beat 4 for 0 off two overs, including an opportunistic stumping (nearly a run out) from Connor Halsey. A good day to bolster the averages. Khalsa college were all out for just 48 and GPR made light work of polishing off the runs, reaching 52 in just seven overs with just the loss of Chris Lamb and Andy Jones who had put on 34 of them with Adam McKie who himself ended up with 21 no. Good to see a victory after a couple of barren weeks, but I sense it will be a little tougher against Upminster next week.
