Match report Horndon took first use of a very low slow pitch where all day the wicketkeepers were struggling with the inconsiderate bounce. Harvir Jutla struck in the first over and the visitors found it difficult to score quickly against the Park attack, although the extras column mounted (there were 45 extras in the innings!). A direct hit from a fine Ammar Zahid throw made more inroads and it was only the number 5, Karu (Senior) who kept things together with 34, and there was a brief flurry from the tail to take the score to 125 all out. For Park, Rajesh Kanojia had 2 for 19, young spinner Louis Parr grabbed 3 for 17, and a debut spell from Josh Turner saw 5 overs for only 3 runs. Small totals are sometimes tricky to negotiate but Ian Greenwood and Ammar Zahid looked comfortable until the former was bowled and the latter, having made an assured 21, was very well held at short midwicket off a hard hit: 36 for 2, which became 45 for 3. Chris Lamb dug in and he and Hravir Jutla were going well when the latter was out to an astonishing catch off a very powerful drive. However Lamb was joined by Nelson lopes and the pair added 39 and took the score to within five runs of victory before Lamb scored the winning runs to finish 49 not out and a Park win by 5 wickets.
