Cranham v Gidea Park & Romford CC U15 on Sun 10 Jul 2005 at 9.30am
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won Lost by 6 wickets
( 01Aug2005) I apologise for the late addition of this result & match report - this was owing to computer problems.
As it's late and my memory is not all that I'll keep it brief.
This fixture was played at Cranham's ground a very dry track lacking somewhat in care and attention - that's any care and attention!!! made runs & survival difficult to achieve.
The side was somewhat depleted due to players commitments....An U16 matchplay game in the afternoon taking toll on 3 key members of the team & owing to an illness to another leaving us with 10 men which included Paul Bradley (WELCOME PAUL) playing his debut and Vijays mate Manjeet stepping in to do us a favour and make our number 10.
Cranham won the toss and put us in.
With the new ball and the track in the condition it was batting proved very difficult and somewhat treacherous. (I soon became glad that bowlers Eddie Gavigan, Waleed Wain and Steven Gallagher were not in our midsts as I think they may have been lethal).
The lads that played were brave, managing to achieve a total of 66 runs in 16 overs including a very fine effort by Robert Jones who top scored with 29 runs to his name.
Cranham also found batting something of a challenge but managed without too much difficulty to score 68 runs for 4 wickets upon the completion of 12.2 overs.
