Gidea Park & Romford CC

Scorecard

Gidea Park & Romford CC Saturday 4th X1 v HUTTON on Sat 03 Sep 2005 at 1pm
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won 5 wickets

An excellent batting performance saw Gidea Park win despite truly awful display of fielding during Hutton's innnings; park grassed too many chances to count such that Hutton were able to set a very challenging 282 to win. That they were kept to this total was due in large proportions to Danny Cox and Anil Patel who picked up 3 wickets apiece towards the death, and Louis Stuckey's tight early spell was a useful contribution.
Patel got Park off to a flyer with a quick-fire 27 but fell attempting another big shot. Having lost McCormack for a duck, the home side were wobbling before Webber's 87 steadied the ship. The skipper was disappointed to fall before the final 20 overs started but he need not have worried as a classy innings from Dave Pasola of 49 not out, and a fierce 71 not out from Durvinder Bhogal saw them home with several overs to spare.
Gidea Park have been lucky to chase 2 big scores against Hutton this season will feel hard done by to have lost despite setting such a high target.
Next week Park travel to local rivals hoping to end the season on a high.
