Gidea Park & Romford CC Saturday 4th X1 v SOUTH WOODFORD on Sat 27 Aug 2005 at 1pm
Gidea Park & Romford CC Lost
Having been inserted to bat, Gidea Park were pleased to reach the 200 mark and secure 8 batting points despite the team having been depleted by promotions and withdrawals in plentiful numbers. Captain Chris Webber's 89 not out was the main contribution but Peter Collier's 45 was a vital contibution as were 21 and 15 from Cox and Bhogal respectively.
In response, South Woodford wobbled early on losing three quick wickets to Bhogal, but thereafter they never looked in any real doubt, particularly P. Shirt who added 92 not out to his 4 wickets and looked every bit the 2nd/3rd team player that he so clearly should be. The end came early after Shirt and Hardie got stuck into some erratic bowling by the home side however; given that 2 hours before the start Park only had 8 players, nine points was a useful haul.
