HORNDON ON THE HILL v Gidea Park & Romford CC Saturday 4th X1 on Sat 30 Jul 2005 at 1.30PM
Match was Abandoned
Rain intervened in a game that was destined for a result even though the winner could not be predicted with the match nicley balanced with park on 69 - 5 chasing 143 to win. Having dismissed Horndon for 142, Park fancied a victory and owed a lot to the tight bowling of Dave Sinclair who's 5 - 48 was a fair reflection of his 16 over spell. Louis Stuckey can consider himself to be unlucky to have finsihed wicketless after a good opening spell, but Danny Cox made a tight return to bowling with 2 for 18.
The response could not have started any worse for Park with McCormack falling first ball and then losing Thain in the same over. Pasola followed to make it 6 for three before Cox and Webberadded 62 for the 4th wicket. Cox played on in the 23rd over but with Webber looking comfortable, Park still had every chance before the rain came and scupperred everybody's hopes.
