WANSTEAD v Gidea Park & Romford CC Saturday 4th X1 on Sat 21 May 2005 at 1.30pm
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won 4 wickets
A great first win of the season for Gidea Park at the Peter May Centre. Having inserted the opposition, Park did well to bowl them out for 162 in 47 overs which due to a short rain break gave every chance. Enormous credit to Marc LLoyd and Louis Stuckey for their bowling performances, particularly the letter who picked up a hat-trick on the way to a haul of 4-29.
The response was led from the front by opener Chris Goldsmith who concentrated hard for his 46 but after he was dismissed with the score on 95, Park collapsed to 97 for 6.
The win was completed thanks to an abrasive 55 not out from Durvinder Bhogal supported throughout by stand-in skipper, John Windebank. Victory was sealed with 4.1 overs remaining.
