Gidea Park & Romford CC U15 v Havering on Sun 18 Aug 2002 at 9.30
Gidea Park & Romford CC Won 123 runs
Park batted first and after a shaky start skipper Ryan Sammons came to the wicket and 108 runs later walked off the wicket undefeated and responsible for a Park total of 175 off 20 overs. It was a blistering knock including 20 fours and a maiden century. Congratulations Ryan it is an important milestone in your cricketing career and well deserved. Jason Toogood supported Ryan well adding 32 undefeated runs in their unbroken 129 run parnership.
Park could afford to experiment a bit and Opened the bowling with Sam "sicknote" Dennis who was recovering from his 26th minor injury of the summer!!! James Johal returning from holiday bowled well a wicket as did Craig Bray. Billy Payne and Ryan Sammons bowled economically but it was "Spin Twins" Andy D'cruz & Jason Toogood who did the most damage taking 5 wickets between them. Jason experimenting with off spin took 3 for 6 and was on a hat-trick.
A big win for park and a special mention for Gary Coombe making his debut behind the stumps. The boy done good but will have to learn to refine his stumping technique!!!
